This is a project dedicated to researching and pursuing authentic ska.
Comprising approximately 10 musicians and engineer-musicians, the project focuses primarily on recording and streaming activities.
We love ska.
Above all, we love the authentic ska sound played and recorded in Jamaica during the 1960s.
The concept of this project is to seriously engage with that authentic ska music we love.
Authentic ska is worth exploring.
CONCEPT
Ska is still loved by many musicians and played around the world.
There are wonderful bands and musicians, and we can listen to their music.
However, the authentic ska sound, the roots ska sound played in the 60s, can only be heard on records recorded at that time.
That sound is what we love.
This project, “AUTHENTIC SKA STANDARD,” aims to recreate that playing style and sound.
Some might call our actions nostalgia.
But studying the roots sound is a highly creative act.
It’s not mere nostalgia.
We study the roots sound, aiming for true creative musical expression beyond it.
HISTORY
In March 2025, held a session dedicated to researching ska playing techniques. Launched a website to archive the research findings.
Commenced recording activities starting November 2025.
Began activities centered around subscription streaming starting February 2026.
